Boys U14 Competitive

2022-23 Tryouts

The coaching staff would like to thank all players who tried out and worked hard. It was very difficult to make selections and we encourage those who were not selected this round to continue developing basketball and athletic skill and tryout again next season.

The following players are invited to join the Gold Medal U14 Boy's team for 2022-23:

About the Coaches

John Caulfield – played for Mount Saint Vincent University, former assistant coach of the Fanshawe Men’s Basketball team, high school coaching experience, and 4th year coaching with Gold Medal. National Coaches Certification Program (NCCP) Certified in basketball.

Jamie Clark - played for Brock University, 20+ years coaching with the Gold Medal Basketball Club, LBA shooting instructor, secondary school teacher and coach, NCCP Level 1 and 2 fully certified.

Pete McIntosh – former high school teacher with over
30 years basketball coaching experience, coaching both boys and girls high school, and 9 years with the Gold Medal Basketball Club. NCCP Level 1 and 2 fully certified.

Kurt Weiland - played for the University of Western Ontario, elementary school teacher with over 15 years of basketball coaching experience (girls and boys), and 5th year coaching with Gold Medal. NCCP Level 1 certified.

Season info

Our season is planned to run from September 2022 to March/April 2023. Practices will generally be held twice a week on weeknights. We will be playing in 30+ games. Competition format may include a weeknight 'home and away' schedule, 3 team mini-tournaments on Saturday nights, and away tournaments with overnight stay. The season will conclude with the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) Ontario Cup Championship tournament.
