TRYOUT INFORMATION

This team is for players with a 2008 birth year only.

Our open tryout dates have been set as follows:

1) Fri Sept 15 2023 from 8:00 - 9:30 pm

2) Sat Sept 16 2023 from 8:00 - 9:30 pm 

The gym location is at The Flight Exec Centre, 2066 Dorchester Rd, Dorchester, ON N0L 1G2

All registered players are invited to attend these two tryout dates, after which a cut will happen. An email message will be sent out on the evening of Sept 16 communicating which players have been released and which players have been invited to a third tryout (Sun Sept 17 from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm). The final roster will be selected after this third tryout.

***Players will not be considered fully registered until the form has been submitted and $25 tryout fees have been received. The deadline for payment is Sept 10 2023.

Season InfoRMATION

This competitive team will work around the high school basketball schedule (which runs generally from November until late February). We will have a training phase from September until early March with weekly practices and potentially a few exhibition games. The bulk of our games will then take place in the competition phase starting after March Break and concluding at the end of May. 

We will be registering for the Ontario Basketball League (OBL) and participating in the 12 game schedule (see details & dates: link found here).

Our season will end with the Ontario Basketball Championships (OBA - For info: link found here ) 

ABOUT THE COACHES

Head Coach Jess Coulas - secondary school teacher with over 15 years of basketball coaching experience (girls and boys), community coach for past 10 years, and 5th year coaching with Gold Medal. National Coaches Certification Program (NCCP) Trained/Certified for basketball, baseball, hockey, and secondary sports. 

Assistant Coach John Caulfield – played for Mount Saint Vincent University, former assistant coach of the Fanshawe Men’s Basketball team, high school coaching experience, and 5th year coaching with Gold Medal.  NCCP Certified in basketball.
